Missions Ministry in Mexico

God began our missionary journey by leading us to serve with YUGO Ministries, introducing our family to Mexico and what it means to serve God in missions and evangelism ministry. We are so humbled and blessed to have been a part of this awesome kingdom building work. God is faithful and continues to honor and bless His ministry through our family and our present work with Evident Ministries.

Evident Ministries

We served as Mission Mobilizers and Ministers at Large in our role as missionaries with YUGO Ministries. Our primary role as mobilizers was to promote God's heart for the nations within the local North American church. In the effort, and using our gospel bluegrass music and preaching ministry as a tool, we share testimony from the mission field and challenge others to get involved in cross cultural missions with an invitation to join us on the mission field in Mexico.

In our work with YUGO, we also directed an evangelistic outreach mission effort in Acuña, Mexico. Acuña is located just across the border from Del Rio, TX. We have been hosting one-week short-term trips for Team Ministry in a Acuña since 2006. Our training with YUGO helped us, with the blessing of YUGO's leadership, to have the courage to follow God's lead to launch our own non-profit ministry.

We are always on the lookout for youth pastors, church groups, and individuals with a burden for the lost, who are looking for ministry and discipling opportunities, who can join us for a week of Team Ministry in Mexico.

We also love sharing our gospel bluegrass music and preaching ministry and encouraging others with testimony from the mission field of how God continues to bless our socks off and use our family in ministry.

OUR PURPOSE

TO KNOW GOD AND TO MAKE HIM KNOWN

CRITICAL ISSUE

- PEOPLE NEED THE LORD

- GOD HAS GIVEN CHRISTIANS A VERY CLEAR MANDATE TO SPREAD THE GOOD NEWS OF JESUS TO ALL NATIONS

WHO WILL TELL THE WORLD ABOUT JESUS?

Our Mexico History

2003 - Chris was invited to drive the bus for a youth group from Lawrence, Kansas to Reynosa, Mexico on a mission trip with YUGO Ministries. It was the result of a chance encounter on a camping trip over memorial day weekend into thousand three. Of course, we now know that God had a plan for us all along.

On that first trip, Chris got to participate in the ministry. He preached his first sermon. He saw Mexicans hungry for Hope and coming to Jesus! He fell in love with the Mexican children.

Chris saw youth giving everything to God as they lead other youth to Jesus. Chris got a firsthand look at real poverty for the first time.

2004 - Chris took Samantha, Adam, and Chewy back to Mexico to work with YUGO Ministries in Reynosa Mexico.

The Canote kids quickly came to understand what happened to dad the year before and why he kept talking about moving to Mexico! Later in the fall of 2004, Chris was invited to join some YUGO missionaries on a recon trip to scout out a Acuña, Mexico as a possible future ministry site. On this first trip, we discovered Camp Getsemani. We considered the camp to be a sign of God's Providence. Camp Getsemeni now serves as our base camp while conducting our Team Ministry evangelism efforts in a Acuña.

It was not long before we started the year-long screening an interview process to become full-time YUGO missionaries. After a full background check, psychological testing, interviews, reference checks, etc., We were approved by the YUGO Board of Directors and commissioned to the field in late 2006.

Our home church at the time, Harrisburg Baptist Church, also held a commissioning service in December 2006.

We started building our ministry support team. God is given us opportunities nearly every single day to share and minister to others about missions in the work he has done through this ministry. We do not feel worthy but believe God has called us to this ministry. He continues to meet our needs and bless our socks off! God is good and he is faithful… All the time.
